Equilibrio (Balance)

Equilibrio
(Balance)

Great Day of Halibut Fishing this summer.
The church that I attended in Wilmington (which my wife and I now attend online) had the tradition of making a sort-of New Year's resolution. Instead of actually making an actual resolution, we pick 1 word to focus on for the entire year. (It's called My One Word, Twitter: #mow) This word is usually based around the idea of helping us achieve a closer relationship to God, which in the long run, will help us to be the man/woman that God designed us to be.

This year, I have chosen the word balance. I am working at school everyday from 7:45am-3pm, coaching the high school cheerleaders from 3pm-6pm, and then I get to see my wife for 3-4 hours each night. We usually attend high school games on Friday and Saturday nights, then have church services on Sundays. I am also taking an online class with intentions of receiving my K-12 teaching license, moving back to Wilmington, NC in early June, but most importantly, our first child is due on February 13, so I will become a Dad for the first time in my life.

Needless to say, somehow, I am going to have to need some balance. I believe that as I focus on the word balance, I will keep a consistent relationship with God, who will ultimately enable me to balance my life the way He needs it to be.
