Dustin Crump

Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 2009.

¡Hola! My name is Dustin Crump. I am 25 years old and my hometown is Boone, North Carolina. I moved to Wilmington when I was 20 years old and attended Cape Fear Community College. After,  I transferred to UNC Wilmington and graduated with my BA in December of 2012.

Our Wedding. Topsail Island, NC. 2013.

After my wife and I got married in March, we decided to take and adventure. So, we drove across the country to her hometown which is where we are currently living. The town is named Petersburg and it is a small island located in southeast Alaska off the coast of Canada.

Since we have been here, I have been working as an Instructor's Assistant rotating between the Special Ed. and ESL departments at the middle school. I love my job so much that I decided to return to school so that I can teach.

About me? I am a Chicago Bears fan. I love to run. It's "my thing". I also like to read books when I have time to relax. Drinking coffee, hot tea, and water is a daily pleasure. I love food. My favorite food has to be either dark chocolate or smoked gouda cheese (not together). I also love vegetables. Traveling is amazing... but just too expensive! I have been to many different states in the US and have also traveled to Canada, The Netherlands, and Spain. (I actually lived in Spain for 3.5 months where I completed a study abroad program while at UNCW.) I love the Spanish language and the many different cultures. It has become my passion, along with working with middle schoolers.

Soon, I plan to become a middle school Spanish teacher. I want to achieve at least an MA in Spanish, and my dream is to either teach in a dual immersion middle school or become a college professor of Spanish/Education.

Lastly, my wife and I are expecting our first child to arrive on February 13, 2014! We are extremely excited to bring Ella Claire into the world!

I am stoked to be taking this class and cannot wait to read about/get to know the other students and Dr. Trujillo!
