Embrace It!

 Abrazarlo

Each year I commit to a New Years resolution and really work at it for the rest of the year. One year it was to eat healthier foods, last year it was to run a half marathon. I tend to pick a tangible goal and really work hard at it all year. This year my goal is a little bit different. With my last semester of college coming to an end my goal this year is just to soak up every minute of the time I have left of this time in my life. I want to make everyday count and not waste a single moment. This goal is not as measurable as my past goals, such as running where I told myself I had to reach a certain distance by a certain date, so I will have to really have to monitor it throughout the year. I just want to take it day by day and enjoy the time I have left!

Ejercicio

I like the idea of this assignment.  It is very original, and helps us to get to know one another.  Being an online class, I enjoy getting to know my classmates and their goals.

This year I hope to keep my goal to exercise at least three times a week.  When I exercise it helps me clear my head, but I tend to put it off because I'm busy working, cooking, cleaning, or doing homework.  I hope to include Isabella in my exercise routine.  We go to my old high school, and run around the track together.  We go to the park to swing and slide.  This Summer we can take walks down the beach, and swim in our neighbors pool.  Anything to be more Active!
This is an example of some exercises I "attempt" in my workout videos.

Dancing with these girls is a great workout.  This weekend my friend had a camo birthday party, and we danced the night away!!!

Concentrado

Concentrado
Focused

This year my main goal is to stay focused. I want to stay focused in my work, school, home life, and church life. It is so hard to stay focused in one area without getting off track and thinking about other things. I want to be able to focus in on what I am doing and complete whatever task is on hand. If I am doing homework I want to focus and get it done. If I am at work with a customer I want to give my full attention and not be distracted by other worldly things. I cannot wait to see how I do this year with my goal. Good luck to everyone else as well.

Equilibrio (Balance)

Equilibrio
(Balance)

Great Day of Halibut Fishing this summer.
The church that I attended in Wilmington (which my wife and I now attend online) had the tradition of making a sort-of New Year's resolution. Instead of actually making an actual resolution, we pick 1 word to focus on for the entire year. (It's called My One Word, Twitter: #mow) This word is usually based around the idea of helping us achieve a closer relationship to God, which in the long run, will help us to be the man/woman that God designed us to be.
A beautiful day on the boat this summer. (Petersburg, Alaska)

This year, I have chosen the word balance. I am working at school everyday from 7:45am-3pm, coaching the high school cheerleaders from 3pm-6pm, and then I get to see my wife for 3-4 hours each night. We usually attend high school games on Friday and Saturday nights, then have church services on Sundays. I am also taking an online class with intentions of receiving my K-12 teaching license, moving back to Wilmington, NC in early June, but most importantly, our first child is due on February 13, so I will become a Dad for the first time in my life.

Hanging from a gill net hammock on a camping trip this summer. (Petersburg, Alaska)
Needless to say, somehow, I am going to have to need some balance. I believe that as I focus on the word balance, I will keep a consistent relationship with God, who will ultimately enable me to balance my life the way He needs it to be.

My family and I enjoy going to the beach, laying by the pool, fishing, vacating, heading to baseball games, attending church and just spending quality time with each other.

Ashley Myles

I am 21 years old. I live at Wrightsville Beach with my 5 best friends  I love art and I like to run, swim, and anything that involves the beach. I hate being landlocked.  I am a senior at UNCW majoring in International Studies. However, I am considering teaching English abroad after I graduate in May. This summer I traveled to Costa Rica where I studied Spanish and was able to teach English in primary schools there. It was an amazing experience. I loved speaking Spanish in an actual Spanish speaking country. I am also considering teaching ESL when I get done traveling. I'm sad college is ending, but ready to move on to this new chapter in life!
